Arrowroot
Grinding Machine
General
description: General description: The roots are
washed, cleaned of the scale, washed again and finally
reduced to a pulp form by manually scraping into a
conventional scraper. The process is tedious and results
in the waste of the material. It is also very slow.
Technical
details: The developed machine consists of a
feeding box provided with a wooden roller in the centre. A
mild steel plate with perforations, which create a rough
surface on the outer side, wraps the roller. A 1 H.p motor
that is connected to the shaft of the roller powers the
machine. When the machine is powered on, arrowroot is fed
into the feeding box and is scraped between the roller and
the sidewall of the machine.
